In this project, students individually selected a book that mattered. They read the book with the focus to defend it as a text that changes perspectives, challenges stereotypes, and illuminates issues. Each student participated in both a mock defense and first round defense, where they spoke for 6 minutes each. The 6 finalists, seen in the video above, defended their book in front of an audience of peers, teachers, and parents in the MPR on June 16th, 2015.
